Diode current equation

Diode current equation:Diode current equation gives the mathematical relationship between applied voltage v_D and diode current I_D .

                       I_D =I_s (e^vo/nvT – 1)

Here  I_D = Diode current which is in mille amperes (mA)

          Is = Reverse saturation current (µA)

          V_D = applied voltage

          V_T = voltage equivalent of temperature(at room temperature the value of V_T =26mv)

The value of n = 1 for Ge

                     n = 2 for Si.
