Pixel 3 Could Have iPhone-Like Haptic Feedback, Vibration System

Another day, another Pixel 3 leak. Google’s upcoming Pixel 3 has been leaked more time times than most other smartphones, and the latest one claims that the upcoming Google flagship will feature a new vibration system to provide a better haptic feedback for user interactions.

A new ‘hands-on video’ of the Pixel 3 XL has surfaced online, courtesy of a Russian publication named Rozetked, which shows the device in its white color option while being compared with the Pixel 2 XL. The audio is in the Russian language, but the publication has reportedly told 9to5Mac that the Pixel 3 will feature a ‘new vibration system, just like one on the iPhone 7, 8 and X or maybe even better’. The video doesn’t really show the phone in action so we can’t really tell how the haptic feedback actually works.

The publication also claims that the Pixel 3 offers a ‘very good sensitivity and the best touch experience’. The iPhone X’s vibration system is powered by Apple’s Taptic Engine which controls the vibration and haptic feedback functionality on the iPhone X. While some Android phones do have custom engines for haptic feedback, we can’t wait to see what Google has put in place here.

Pretty much everything else about the Pixel 3 and 3 XL has leaked out already and the only real mystery is around the software features that may be new to the Pixel lineup. FOr instance, we know the Pixel 3 will debut the new Google Camera app, but what else has Google changed? And are there any other changes that are still secret? We will find out soon enough as Google unveils the new phones on October 9.
